We're here, we're not perfect, and we're ready to kick things up a notch...

Questions? I've Got Answers

Do writers live in a different world than everyone else? Or do we only pretend to do so? I’ve wondered about this for a very long time. While the rest of the world goes about the day to day business of living, we’re hunched over a keyboard, somewhere…creating. But are we working on an art form or a craft? I’ve decided we’re working on a combination of the two. Think a cheeseburger, large fries and cherry milkshake combo; minus the calories of course. And while I work on the combo, I prefer to work on more than one book at a time. At the moment I am alternating between three. One that is near and dear to my heart is of course the book that is all about me. What is the working title of your book? Titles are never easy for me. A friend suggested I call it the unauthorized autobiography, but then he has a weird sense of humor. Because of my belief in reincarnation I chose Boo La La; my life as Janice Where did the idea come from for the book? Whenever I blog about a ghost hunting adventure it’s always in the back of my mind that I should write more about these adventures. That, and the question I am most often asked; what lead to your interest in the paranormal in the first place. But hey, look around. Other paranormal researchers have shared their memoirs and their quests into the world of ghosts and the supernatural. Why not me? Why not me, indeed. So I sat down and started writing. What genre does your book fall under? Most of my books are in the paranormal, travel, and ghost genre. Boo La La will be a paranormal memoir. Is there such a genre? I certainly hope so. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? I can’t think of a better team than that of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to play me and my husband, of course. Betty White would be perfect for the role of my grandmother. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? The truth and nothing but the truth…just as I remember it. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? With the exception of The Haunting of Las Vegas, my books are self-published. I am under contract to do a new version of Haunted Nevada, due March 1st. That said, Boo La La will most likely be self-published. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? It took about six months. Rewrite could take longer. Did I really say that? Yes, and now I have to cut some of the word count back. Who or what inspired you to write this book? My inspiration is my life which is surely as interesting as that of any other paranormal researcher (as in ghost hunter.) What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? Fans who like my true ghost hunting travel books might be curious as to the woman behind the keyboard at the séance table. A week from today, follow the link below to read more Next Big Thing Blogs. The 23 2/3 Psalm

The banker is my Lord, he giveth me credit, my score is good and obtained at a high rate of interest.

He maketh me to market third rate goods and profit from superfluous abundance.

He giveth me the keys to a heavily mortgaged home. He restoreth my faith in all things capitalistic.

He guideth me in the paths of tax deductions, capital gains, and greed for economics’ sake. Yes though I walk through the very shadow of bankruptcy I shall fear no evil for thou art laden with liquid assets. Thy oil, gold, and silver prices fluctuate and my security is a Swiss bank account. Thou preparest a way for me to avoid substantial early withdrawal penalties. Thou fillest my portfolio with pork bellies. My hatred of tax rate hikes is boundless. Surely goodness and plenty of sure fire tax shelters shall be mine to hide behind all the days of my life. And I shall do business in this same manner forever.
